It’s a fact of life in the northwest that we have a cold winter and that’s just life. It does get old. DH says bring it on…we need the snow pack for the water the melt brings in the spring. I find ways to get through it through my crafts and doing things indoors. I’m pretty much a homebody so don’t venture out a lot besides work and errands and I’m lucky to work from home. It’s easy to get the blah’s or cabin fever but I’m pretty much the cup is half-full type of person so I make do and know come spring things will be hopping.
Got my registration packet for the Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup in February. I’ve been once before and it’s quite a show with tons of classes and lots of vendors. I’m signing up early in hopes of getting into the classes I want and will try to find someone to cover work so I can take a couple of days to go. This is the largest sewing show in the nation and if you haven’t gone, think about going. All of the top sewists in the US give classes plus all of the companies that sell sewing machines and gadgets will be there plus lots more. If any of my farmgirl friends want to meet up there, let me know and we’ll make a plan! I’m going to a seminar on Feb 26 and classes most of the day on the 27th and I’ll leave that afternoon for home so I don’t have tons of free time but it would be fun just the same. I was going to ask a friend to go but think I might just venture out by myself. I’ll run into a few friends from Colfax as they always go in a big group and probably a few more. So….if you like to sew, want to learn more about sewing, want to check out new machines, shop til you drop for all sorts of fun sewing items, mark your calendars and visit the website and get signed up. Classes fill up quickly! Hope to see you there but please let me know if you’re going to go so we can say hello in person.

I live on a sheep farm in Washington State and enjoy the country life. I enjoy everything living on a farm entails - gardening, managing our stock, riding horses, having dogs and critters about and trying to keep it simple. Plain fact is that sometimes it gets all way too complicated, so I'm just a work in progress. I enjoy creating original designs and I spin, knit, sew, quilt, make soap and lotions and homemade just-about-anything! Visit for a while and see what kind of trouble I've been getting into lately.
